We map the people, workflows, and existing systems your product must serve, then build the web, mobile, or enterprise application around them. Working releases let you test the decisions as the product takes shape. We plan integrations, automated checks, and documentation alongside the code so your team can understand and extend what we deliver. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/software-engineering/ - Web, mobile, and enterprise applications - APIs, integrations, and business workflows - Technical documentation and product handover ### AI & intelligent systems Vadersoft starts with the task, the available data, and what a useful answer looks like. We prototype generative AI knowledge assistants, document processing, and decision support against examples from your own workflows. Together, we define how to evaluate accuracy, recognise uncertainty, and hand decisions back to people. Those findings guide the model choice, data connections, and integration into your existing software before a wider rollout. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/artificial-intelligence/ - AI opportunity assessment and working prototypes - Knowledge tools and workflow integrations - Evaluation criteria and human review workflows ### Cloud & platform engineering Your platform has to work for the people who run it. Vadersoft maps your workloads, access requirements, and existing infrastructure, then designs the cloud architecture and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines around them. We consider monitoring, recovery, and operating costs while the system is being built. Whether you are planning a cloud migration or launching a new one, the handover includes the configuration and operational guidance your team needs. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/cloud-platforms/ - Cloud architecture and infrastructure implementation - Deployment pipelines and system integrations - Monitoring plans and operational documentation ### Product strategy & design Vadersoft brings design and engineering into discovery together. We examine who the product serves, where the current experience breaks down, and which technical constraints matter. UX research, user journeys, and interactive prototypes make the choices tangible, so you can test assumptions before committing to the build. We turn what you learn into a prioritised scope, an interface direction, and a delivery roadmap that explains what to build first and why. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/product-strategy/ - Discovery findings and prioritised product scope - User journeys, interfaces, and interactive prototypes - Technical feasibility and implementation roadmap ### Hardware & connected systems A connected product is only as useful as the path between the device and the people using it. Vadersoft works across embedded software, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, robotics, and automation to design that path. We prototype device behaviour, communications, and platform integrations together, checking how they respond to the intended operating conditions. Connectivity, control, and failure behaviour become explicit requirements before the implementation expands. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/connected-systems/ - Embedded software and connected device prototypes - Hardware, software, and platform integrations - Automation concepts and technical validation ### Cybersecurity Vadersoft treats security as engineering work with a clear next step. Within an agreed, authorised scope, we review application behaviour, cloud configuration, and the boundaries between systems. Threat modelling and vulnerability assessment help connect each finding to the assets and workflows it affects. We work with your team to prioritise remediation, assign ownership, and verify the changes, with secure design decisions carried into future development. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/cybersecurity/ - Application and cloud security assessments - Vulnerability prioritisation and remediation planning - Secure architecture, threat modelling, and validation ### Blockchain Vadersoft starts by asking who needs to share a record, who can change it, and how those changes should be verified. We assess whether a shared ledger fits, then design the smart contracts, decentralised application, and enterprise integrations to your existing systems. Contract testing, wallet interactions, key management, and transaction costs inform the build together. Deployment responsibilities and operating procedures are defined alongside the software. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/blockchain/ - Smart contract design, implementation, and testing - Decentralised applications, wallet connections, and API integrations - Ledger architecture and deployment documentation ### Edge intelligence Vadersoft engineers local AI systems for devices, private networks, and environments where connectivity cannot be assumed. We assess the workload, data sensitivity, memory, compute, and power available before choosing a model and runtime. Local inference, secure provisioning, controlled connectivity, and recovery behaviour are designed together. We evaluate accuracy and performance on representative hardware, then define how the system is updated, monitored, and supported through its operating life. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/edge-intelligence/ - Model selection, optimisation, and on-device inference - Offline workflows, local APIs, and controlled synchronisation - Secure provisioning, hardware evaluation, and lifecycle planning ### Spatial computing (AR & VR) Vadersoft builds augmented and virtual reality experiences around a clear use case: training, simulation, spatial guidance, or exploring a design. We map how a person moves, sees, and interacts before choosing the device and runtime. Spatial interfaces, 3D content, tracking, and connections to existing systems are developed together. We test usability, comfort, accessibility, and performance on the intended hardware, with an alternative interaction path where an immersive interface is not appropriate. Source: https://vadersoft.com/services/spatial-computing/ - AR and VR prototypes, spatial interfaces, and interactive 3D experiences - Training, simulation, and visualisation workflows connected to existing systems - Device evaluation, interaction testing, and deployment documentation ### Robotics & autonomous systems Vadersoft approaches robotics as a connected engineering problem: what a machine can sense, how it decides, and what it may safely do. We work with Pibotix as a robotics partner. We develop the software, device integrations, and control workflows around the operating environment and available hardware. Simulation and staged physical testing help evaluate behaviour before wider use. Edge inference, telemetry, human intervention, and recovery are considered together, with deployment responsibilities and operating limits made explicit. Vadersoft is a software and systems engineering company. Our capabilities include digital product development, artificial intelligence, cloud platforms, product strategy, connected systems, cybersecurity, blockchain, edge intelligence, spatial computing (AR and VR), and robotics and autonomous systems. ### Can you help with an existing product or system? Yes. A project can begin with an existing application, internal workflow, or connected system. We first look at its current behaviour, technical constraints, and intended outcome to identify a useful scope of work. ### Do we need a complete specification to start? No. You can start with a problem, an idea, or an early product direction. Discovery can help clarify the users, requirements, technical feasibility, and priorities before implementation. ### How do you decide whether AI is appropriate? We consider the task, available data, expected usefulness, integration needs, and the consequences of incorrect outputs. A focused prototype and agreed evaluation criteria can help determine whether an AI approach is suitable. ### How are project scope and pricing determined? Scope and pricing depend on the problem, requirements, existing systems, and proposed deliverables. Contact us with your objectives and constraints so that an appropriate engagement can be discussed. ### What happens after development? Handover, documentation, deployment responsibilities, ownership, and any ongoing support are defined in the project agreement. These details should be discussed while the engagement is being scoped. ### Do you work with teams across Africa and internationally? Yes. Vadersoft works with teams across Africa and globally. We agree on communication, delivery milestones, documentation, and handover around your organisation. Start with the problem, the systems involved, and your operating constraints. ### How can I start a conversation? Email hello@vadersoft.com with a short description of the problem, who the product is for, and any timing or technical constraints. An early idea is enough to begin the discussion. ## Official profiles - Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/vadersoft/ - Github: https://github.com/VADERSOFT - X: https://x.com/Vadersoft_ ## A message from the founder Build systems worthy of people. Emmanuel Apetsi, Founder & CEO Source: https://vadersoft.com/founders-message/ To the people building what comes next, The next era of technology will be defined by what people can depend on. An intelligent system becomes valuable when someone can use it to understand a difficult problem, make a better decision, or carry out work that once seemed beyond reach. Its promise becomes real when it keeps serving them through changing conditions, uncertainty, and failure. That is the work I want Vadersoft to stand for. We bring software, design, artificial intelligence, hardware, blockchain, and cybersecurity into the same conversation because the problems our clients face do not respect the boundaries between those disciplines. Building well means understanding how the whole system behaves, including the people who depend on it. ### Human capability belongs in the architecture. As AI becomes more capable, our responsibility to develop human capability grows with it. People need the knowledge to question an answer, recognise a weak assumption, and decide when a machine should act. A team that can operate a tool but cannot evaluate its behaviour is left carrying risks it cannot see. For Vadersoft, building a system includes helping the people around it become more capable. That means making decisions understandable, documenting why an architecture takes a particular shape, sharing knowledge, and creating space for people to learn across disciplines. It means designing interfaces that explain uncertainty and give users a useful way to intervene. I want the relationship between humans and machines to increase human agency. The measure is practical: can the person responsible understand the situation, exercise judgement, and remain accountable for the outcome? When we make that possible, intelligence becomes something people can direct with confidence. ### The whole system is our responsibility. A product can have an excellent model and an unreliable data pipeline. A polished interface can conceal a fragile deployment. A connected device can perform perfectly in a laboratory and fail in the conditions where it is actually needed. The seams between disciplines deserve as much attention as the disciplines themselves. Our approach is to bring those decisions together early. Software engineers, designers, security specialists, and hardware thinkers need a shared understanding of the problem. We need to know who uses the system, what it connects to, what it must protect, and what happens when a dependency fails. Those questions shape the architecture before they become expensive surprises. AI can help people work with complex information. Blockchain can support a shared record where participants need verifiable changes and clear rules. Edge computing can bring intelligence closer to the work. Each earns its place through the problem it solves. Our responsibility is to choose deliberately and make the connections dependable. ### Autonomy needs boundaries people can trust. The more a system can do, the more carefully we must define what it is allowed to do. AI agents can read information, invoke tools, and initiate actions. A mistake can therefore move beyond an incorrect answer and into the systems people use to run their organisations. Security belongs at the centre of that design. We must understand identities, permissions, data boundaries, dependencies, and the paths an attacker could exploit. An autonomous workflow needs limits on its authority, records of its actions, and clear points where a person takes responsibility. A sensitive operation may require approval. An unexpected result may require isolation, a safe stop, or a tested recovery path. Vulnerabilities and exposures will continue to change as technology changes. Our response must include disciplined maintenance, dependency review, monitoring, and the ability to apply fixes without losing control of the system. Guardrails become meaningful when they are engineered into how the platform operates and tested under conditions that challenge them. ### Intelligence should work where people work. Some of the most consequential work happens where connectivity is unreliable, expensive, or deliberately restricted. Consider a field team that needs to interpret information while disconnected, a facility that must keep sensitive data within its own perimeter, or a device that has to respond before a distant service can answer. These are design conditions we should take seriously from the beginning. Edge intelligence is a central part of our direction at Vadersoft. We want to engineer systems that can run useful intelligence on local hardware, keep essential workflows available without an internet connection, and give organisations a deliberate choice about what connects to the cloud. The objective is capability that remains close to the people, equipment, and information it serves. That ambition demands careful engineering. A model must fit the available memory, compute, and power. Provisioning and updates need a secure path. Local data needs protection, and reconnection needs clear rules. Working offline does not remove those responsibilities; it changes how we fulfil them. The result should be a system whose essential behaviour remains understandable in either condition. ### Durability is built into everyday decisions. Enterprise engineering is tested over time. Teams change. Requirements expand. Traffic rises. Hardware ages. A service becomes unavailable at an inconvenient moment. The choices we make about boundaries, observability, data ownership, and recovery determine how well a system can respond. Our standard is to make those choices explicit. Performance should be evaluated against the workloads that matter. Availability should have an agreed target and a practical operating plan. Releases should be repeatable, failures observable, and recovery rehearsed. A useful platform gives the next engineer enough understanding to improve it without having to reconstruct every decision from scratch. The experience our team brings across software and intelligent systems informs that discipline. We apply it to the platforms we build with the expectation that they will need to evolve. Progress comes from systems people can maintain, extend, and trust with increasingly important work. ### Vadersoft is the team behind it. Everything I have described depends on people working together. Vadersoft is shaped by a team with different backgrounds, disciplines, and ways of seeing a problem. That diversity matters when it changes a decision: when someone notices a risk another person missed, asks a better question, or offers an approach that would otherwise have remained unexplored. A unified vision gives those perspectives a direction. We want to build useful systems, take responsibility for their behaviour, and keep developing the judgement the work demands. Achieving that takes openness, honest technical debate, shared standards, and the willingness to help another person succeed. Without this team, there is no Vadersoft and no platform we can responsibly put our name to. The work belongs to the people who think it through, test its assumptions, refine its details, and carry it forward. My role is to help create the conditions in which their ability and curiosity can become something remarkable together. The strength of Vadersoft is what we can build together. ### Bring us a problem that matters. To the organisations considering working with us: bring the difficult requirement, the ageing platform, the ambitious idea, or the uncertainty you have not yet resolved. We want to understand the conditions in which your system must work. A productive partnership starts with honest questions, clear responsibilities, and a shared definition of what success should mean. To the engineers, designers, researchers, and builders who see themselves in this work: your perspective matters. The next terrain will demand people who can learn deeply, collaborate generously, and connect an imaginative idea to the discipline required to make it useful. That is the kind of work we want to make room for. The future we are working towards brings human capability and machine intelligence into a more dependable relationship. It protects what people entrust to it. It keeps essential capabilities close enough to remain useful when the network disappears. And it gives the people who inherit it a foundation they can continue to build on. That is the ambition behind Vadersoft. I invite you to help us make it real. ## Engineering notes These are editorial perspectives, not peer-reviewed findings. ### Designing AI with human oversight Define the decision, surface the evidence, and give people a useful place to intervene. Source: https://vadersoft.com/research/designing-ai-with-human-oversight/ #### Start with the decision A useful AI workflow begins with a precise question: what should this system help someone decide or do? Drafting a response, extracting a field, and authorising a transaction are different tasks. They deserve different permissions, checks, and recovery paths. Map the proposed action before choosing a model or interface. #### Make review a real part of the workflow A review button alone does not make oversight useful. The reviewer needs the original request, the relevant source material, the proposed action, and a clear account of what remains uncertain. Design the handoff so a person can correct, reject, or escalate a suggestion without reconstructing the whole process. #### Evaluate the difficult cases Build a small set of representative examples, including incomplete information, conflicting records, and requests the system should decline. Define what a useful response looks like before testing. Record failure modes separately: an incorrect fact, an unsupported recommendation, and an unauthorised action have different consequences. #### Keep a path back Decide which actions can be undone, which require approval, and how the team can pause the workflow. Use appropriate access boundaries and retain only the information needed to understand and operate the system. The engineering question is not simply whether an AI can complete a task, but whether people can understand and manage the result. #### A starting point for discussion This is an engineering perspective, not a report of experimental findings or a claim of certification. NIST’s voluntary AI Risk Management Framework provides broader guidance on incorporating trustworthiness into AI design, development, use, and evaluation. The right controls still depend on the application and its consequences. Reference: NIST — AI Risk Management Framework — https://www.nist.gov/itl/ai-risk-management-framework ### Architecture that can evolve Clear boundaries and visible trade-offs give software room to change without losing its shape. Source: https://vadersoft.com/research/architecture-that-can-evolve/ #### Design around the work Start with the responsibilities the system needs to fulfil. Which information belongs together? Which decisions change for different reasons? A useful boundary makes these responsibilities clear to the people building and operating the software. It should be understandable before it becomes a deployment diagram. #### Choose complexity deliberately Splitting an application into services can create independent deployment boundaries, but it also introduces network communication and operational work. A modular application can be a sensible starting point when the team and problem do not yet require that separation. Record the reasons for the choice and the conditions that would justify revisiting it. #### Treat interfaces as agreements Document the inputs, outputs, failure behaviour, and ownership of each interface. Consider how an existing consumer will behave when a field or rule changes. A small explicit contract is often easier to maintain than an assumption scattered across several codebases. #### Leave a trail of decisions Keep short architecture decision records that explain the problem, the options considered, and the trade-off accepted. Include the context that might change. The aim is to make future decisions easier, not to defend an old diagram indefinitely. #### Questions for the next review Ask what the team can change independently, where knowledge is concentrated, and which failures are difficult to diagnose. These questions make architecture a practical part of delivery. This note sets out design considerations; it does not describe a measured Vadersoft client outcome. Reference: James Lewis and Martin Fowler — Microservices — https://martinfowler.com/articles/microservices.html ### From prototype to production A working demo answers one question. A dependable release needs a wider set of answers. Source: https://vadersoft.com/research/from-prototype-to-production/ #### Name what the prototype proved A prototype might establish that an interaction makes sense, an integration is possible, or a model can handle a narrow task. Write down that evidence and its limits. Avoid treating a successful demonstration as proof that every operating condition has been covered. #### Define readiness together Agree on the expected users, data volumes, environments, and failure conditions. Set acceptance criteria that the team can actually observe. Include accessibility, privacy, access control, and recovery requirements where they apply to the product. #### Make behaviour visible Decide how the team will notice when the service is slow, unavailable, or producing incorrect results. Google’s SRE guidance discusses latency, traffic, errors, and saturation as four useful signals for monitoring. Apply signals that describe the actual user experience rather than collecting numbers without a decision attached. #### Plan the first imperfect day Prepare a deployment process, a rollback or recovery approach, and clear responsibility for incidents. Test the important paths in an environment that represents the intended use. Make the handover include operating instructions and known limitations, not only a repository link. #### Keep learning after release Use observations from real operation to prioritise the next changes. A release is a transition into a different kind of learning. This note is a practical discussion guide, not a guarantee of availability or a report of production results. These domains show the breadth of our work, with each engagement shaped around its own people, systems, and constraints. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/ ### Academia Universities, researchers, and learning communities. We connect research to working platforms and develop the people who will build what follows. ### Government Public institutions and the people they serve. We bring engineering, security, and service design to systems built around public needs. ### Industry Startups, enterprises, and teams moving an industry forward. We work alongside them from the first technical decision to the demands of production. ### Banking in the age of AI Banking platforms, financial workflows, and AI-assisted operations. We connect usable services to auditable records, clear permissions, and human oversight of consequential decisions. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/banking/ We start with the transaction, the people responsible for it, and the evidence each decision must leave behind. AI can assist a workflow; permissions and review determine what it may actually do. Transaction integrity: Define records, reconciliation, and recovery paths before connecting financial workflows. Controlled intelligence: Ground AI assistance in approved information and put consequential actions behind explicit authority. Operational continuity: Design for service health, observability, and dependable handovers between systems. ### Blockchain & digital assets Smart contracts, cryptocurrency infrastructure, and applications across Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, and other networks. We design around custody, transaction integrity, and the risks of operating across chains. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/blockchain/ We work from the asset and its ownership model to the contract, application, and network. Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Smart Chain introduce different operational choices; the architecture must account for them. Contract behaviour: Make permissions, state changes, and failure paths explicit before deployment. Keys and custody: Treat signing, access, and recovery as core system decisions. Cross-chain operations: Examine settlement, monitoring, and integration risks for each supported network. ### AI agents & learning systems Personal learning agents, institutional platforms, and assistants that put knowledge to work. We build retrieval, evaluation, and review into the workflow so a useful answer can lead to a responsible action. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/ai-agents/ We define what an agent needs to know, what it may do, and when a person takes over. That gives personal learning agents and institutional assistants a useful role with understandable boundaries. Knowledge and context: Connect approved sources and make the origin of an answer visible. Evaluation: Test behaviour against the actual tasks, failure cases, and users of the system. Human intervention: Build clear review, escalation, and correction paths into the experience. ### Cybersecurity & advanced security tools Security tooling for software, infrastructure, and AI-enabled systems. We bring admissions, records, administration, and learning experiences into systems that make daily institutional work easier to manage. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/education/ We work through the daily realities of an institution: the learner seeking support, the educator managing a class, and the administrator keeping records accurate. Those workflows shape the platform. Institutional workflows: Connect admissions, records, and administration around clear ownership of information. Learning experiences: Make content, feedback, and personal assistance useful to learners and educators. Appropriate access: Keep permissions and sensitive learner information central to the design. ### Real estate & the built environment Real estate management, property operations, content management systems, and architectural design software. We connect listings, documents, people, and workflows across a property's lifecycle. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/real-estate/ We connect property information to the people who maintain, market, design, and manage it. The starting point is a clear record and a usable workflow across the property lifecycle. Property operations: Bring listings, records, documents, and management tasks into a coherent system. Content management: Give teams control over how property information is maintained and published. Design workflows: Shape architectural design software around the decisions and information designers use. ### Agriculture & connected operations Software for agricultural workflows, field information, and connected operations. We bring operational records and device data together, with the realities of connectivity and work in the field shaping the design. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/agriculture/ Agricultural systems need to reflect where the work happens. We connect field information, operational records, and device data while accounting for intermittent connectivity and varied working environments. Field information: Make collecting and reviewing operational information practical for people in the field. Connected devices: Bring device signals into workflows that give them useful context. Continuity: Plan how records remain usable when the connection is interrupted. ### Mining & minerals exploration Software and connected systems for mining operations and minerals exploration. We bring geological and field information, exploration workflows, and operational records into usable platforms, with data traceability and field connectivity shaping the engineering. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/mining/ We connect geological information, field records, and operational workflows. Traceability matters: teams need to understand where information came from and how it moved through the system. Exploration workflows: Organise geological and field information around the people who collect and interpret it. Traceable records: Keep source, revision, and access information understandable across working teams. Field infrastructure: Design for distributed operations, connectivity constraints, and secure information exchange. ### Energy & utilities Software for energy operations, utility services, and connected infrastructure. We bring operational data, asset records, and service workflows together, with reliability, secure access, and visibility across distributed systems shaping the engineering. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/energy-utilities/ We connect operational information, asset records, and service workflows across distributed infrastructure. Reliability and secure access shape the architecture from the beginning. Asset information: Give operational teams a consistent way to maintain and use asset records. Service workflows: Connect information to the people responsible for the next action. Operational visibility: Design observable integrations and clear recovery paths between distributed systems. ### Tools for the people who build IDEs, command-line tools, AI model tooling, and infrastructure platforms. No client relationships or results are claimed. ### Connected operations A single view of requests, records, and the next action. Business requests often travel across email, spreadsheets, and internal tools. This concept explores how a shared operational workspace could make ownership and progress easier to understand. Bring records into a consistent model, define role-based access, and show each request with its context and next action. Keep system integrations explicit so a failure in one tool can be understood and handled. Validate the concept with representative user journeys, sample records, and integration failure scenarios before committing to delivery. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/connected-operations/ ### Knowledge, within reach An assistant designed around sources, context, and human review. Useful organisational knowledge is often spread across documents and tools. This concept explores an assistant that helps people find relevant material and review a grounded response. Start with a defined document collection, preserve source permissions, and present the evidence alongside each answer. Route unanswered questions to a person and distinguish retrieved material from generated interpretation. Compare responses against an agreed question set and review incorrect, incomplete, and unanswerable cases. No accuracy benchmark is claimed for this concept. Source: https://vadersoft.com/work/knowledge-assistant/ ### Signals into understanding A thoughtful bridge between devices and the people operating them. Device readings only become useful when people can understand their context. This concept explores the path from a connected device to a clear operational interface. Define the measurement, device identity, communication path, and expected reporting interval. Design the interface to distinguish fresh readings from stale or missing data and make operational exceptions visible. Test with representative hardware, connectivity interruptions, and known input conditions. Production requirements would depend on the physical environment and intended use.
